We sense the mystique of the magician Eliodoro, who, in a surreal 1960s atmosphere, transports us into his imaginative world.
A connoisseur of the occult arts and playful pranks, he enters the history of Catania riding his elephant “u liotru,” the city’s symbol, with which he maintains a love-hate relationship—saving it one day, deceiving it the next.
Our storyteller tells us of his magical elephant, whose back is represented by a ceramic wall from Caltagirone, the work of master A. Ludici.
Amid vintage nightstands and curved lamps that evoke tusks and a trunk, we enter his fairy-tale world, from the sight of the “Sputnik” chandelier, with its stroboscopic projections, through the organ-pipe floor lamp, recalling his pranks on the clergy, to the imaginative art installation, a representation of his mirages and deceptions, where truth and lies, just like flashes and reflections, chase and hide from one another, to finally find serenity in flight—as the legend goes—in a stream of moonlit rain.
